Project description:
The project is part of the GTZ project „Environment oriented Enterprise Consultancy Zhejiang (EECZ)": Industrial activities in China have not only significantly contributed to the unprecedented economic growth in China but have also led to severe environmental pollution and to growing amounts of hazardous waste.
Zhejiang occupies the fourth rank in China with regard to its GDP and has a very strong private sector, ranking first in China. The governments of China and Germany have designed a five-year programme to tackle the issues of hazardous waste management and eco-efficient production. The programme Environment-oriented Enterprises Consultancy Zhejiang has been fully operating since 2002. GTZ thus assists in the existing efforts of the provincial government of Zhejiang by closely cooperating with its partner institution, the Zhejiang Environmental Protection Bureau and other governmental agencies in Zhejiang.
