Project description:
The project includes an assessment of waste generation rates, evaluation of pilot projects related to sharps waste treatment, recommendations of treatment technologies for centralized treatment, and economic analysis.
Setting up a pilot project is part of the national implementation plan and is supported in close cooperation of the FHNW, Institute for Ecopreneurship (IEC) and the WHO Regional office Europe. In order to fulfil the formal requirements the National Hospital (NH), which was identified as pilot project host, the NH needs an official approval of the MoH to follow the requirements and activities of the pilot project.
Services provided by ETLog Health EnviroTech & Logistics:
The missions have been targeted to:
- Planning of the logistic and disposal strategy of the pilot project
- To support on the planning of the pilot project,
- To support the MoH on the development of Guidelines and SOP for the pilot project,
- To prepare the final equipment planning,
- To supervise the installation of the autoclaves,
- To test the autoclaves on safety,
- To test bags for usage in the autoclaves.
